Tim’s immediate thought is why isn’t Dick in the cowl? His brow
creases as he watches the familiar blue and black costume,
donned by an even more familiar Dick Grayson. He supposes
it’s possible that he’s just taking a break from the weight of the
mantle and from his bratty sidekick–not that Tim blames him.
Oh, but now– ah. Stray has been noticed. He already knows
that there are no near and easy escape routes, so he stands
from his crouch and easily slips into a coy expression.
❛ Nightwing in Gotham? I must say that I’m a
little surprised. It has been a while. But may
I add, I've missed the view. ❜

❛ Come now, are the guns really necessary? ❜
Stray poises the question with a petulant pout, swiveling his
position on the windowsill with practiced balance. He raises
his gloved hands, which are now void of the USB file he’d
stolen. (It’s been safely stored in his utility belt.)
He doesn’t outwardly show it, but Tim prickles with
discomfort as Jason’s guns are poised at his chest, because
he knows how efficient he is with them.
“Excuse me? There is no other ‘birdy’,
so I have no idea what you’re talking
about.”As far as he knew, Catwoman did even have a sidekick,
but that was the thought that his mind immediately
jumped to. How could it not? The guy was… practically
Selena. Practically. (Obviously there were some slight
differences, but otherwise—)“I’m Robin. Who are you?”

❛ You don’t know Robin? Mean and green?
With some red and yellow thrown in? ❜
Woah, alright. Tim isn’t sure if the guy in front of him was just
playing around (in which case, he was a damned good actor
to have fooled Stray) or if he was serious. He subconsciously
thought of how the teen was fortunate to not have had a run-in
with Damian. But–there was something alarmingly familiar about
this “Robin’s” voice and mannerisms.
❛ Me? ❜ he then allowed the smallest of smirks to
appear on his features, ❛ I’m Stray. ❜

Stray emitted a soft hum of amusement, intrigued by the sight
beneath him. Perching his arms on the metal railing of the fire
escape, he leaned forwards with a crooked smirk. He wondered
if Batman and his anti-Robin knew about the winged girl’s being
in Gotham.
❛ Who would have thought I would catch a
real bird, hm? And such a pretty one, too. ❜

❛ It’s always a pleasure, pretty-bat. What a
coincidence, meeting up like this, hm? ❜
Stray’s smirk came easily to him, and he lifted his hands in a
casual, vague gesture. Of course, the thief knew that Batgirl’s
presence could likely only be credited to the jewel he’d just
stolen. He played ignorant.

❛ I wasn’t aware another birdy had been
picked up. Who are you? ❜ he drawled.
Tim didn’t fail to notice the obvious authenticity that the other’s
costume bore. It was complete with a fully equipped utility belt
and everything. But this Robin wasn’t Damian, and so Stray
harbored a suspicious glare because of it. What had Dick done
now?
{ + thelittlestbrat }

Tim really wasn’t in the mood to deal with Damian right
now. He’d had a long night, and had nothing to show
for it. He knew that Selina would be waiting up for him,
as she always did, so he wanted to hurry home.
❛ If it isn’t the little anti-Robin. I didn’t steal
anything, so you’re wasting both of our
time. ❜

Tim could feel his stomach churn with anxiety at the sight of
the vigilante. Sure, Stray had purposefully triggered the silent
alarm, but those were for the police to answer, not Dick.
–No, Tim told himself. Stray was casual and uncaring about
these things. Just stay in character, he thought, and he’d be
fine. Dick didn’t even suspect, after all.

❛ Did they send tall, dark, and flexible just for me?
I’m flattered. ❜
